Dear Rovers North,
Here’s our Japanese-import NAS Spec Defender 90, with only 20,000 original miles. It’s the same as [YouTube personality] Doug Demuro’s Defender that he keeps on Nantucket.

[Decked out in its winter finery, your Defender looks terrific – trés bien! -ed.]
Dear Rovers North,
I caught this Series III 109” in a display case aboard the Royal
Caribbean Adventure of the Sea cruise ship; I walked past it and had to double back!

[Really, Michael – you know it’s fake because Land Rovers never get stuck -ed.]
Dear Rovers North,
I enjoyed the recent issue of Rovers Magazine and have been fortunate enough to
recently import a ‘97 Wolf (late 1997 being their first year of manufacture). The Wolf has a heavy-duty chassis, a 300 Tdi engine, and a 24V electrical system. This one has only 25,000 miles on it. It’s probably one of the first to find its way into the USA. If you have an interest in a story about it, please let me know.

[As I noted to you, Rovers Magazine readers always have an interest in Land Rovers. We look forward to sharing your experiences with your Wolf -ed.]
Dear Rovers North,
Merry Christmas to you all at the magazine! Sending cheer from Montana. Love your
publication and have ordered many items. We’re always eager to receive the next
issue in the mail!

[Thank you for the lovely Christmas card – complete with a quote from Vermont’s own Robert Frost! We hope you’re part of the terrific Montana Rovers club -ed.]
Dear Rovers North,
Back in 1980, I bought a Series IIA Bugeye through a mechanic’s lien sale. It looked great to me, although the transmission sat in the rear tub. I purchased some shop manuals and rebuilt it. Everything else, except the tires, is as it came to me – even the engine, which runs nicely, has never been taken apart. While a student at Texas A&M, the Land Rover served as my daily driver. Since then, it’s taken me to my property in the Northern White Mountains of Nevada, a region that I call “Land Rover country.” Recently, I’ve disassembled the Bugeye for a refurbishment so I can return it to regular use.

[Wow – 43 years with the same Land Rover – what stories it could tell! Our readers will want to know about your life with your Land Rover and the refurbishment that’s underway -ed.]
Dear Rovers North,
With blemishes and all, our ’97 Defender 90 was front and center for our daughter’s wedding last June at the Wanderwood Farm in Nobleboro, ME. The bride, Maddie, and groom, Dylan Corbett, drove off in style thanks to the amazing staff at Rovers North, who supply the parts needed to ensure a safe drive for the newlyweds.

[We think that Maddie and Dylan started their new lives in high style, and thanks for letting Rovers North be a part of your Land Rover life. Congratulations to the Smit and Corbett families! -ed.]
Dear Rovers North,
I wanted to share “Yeti,” my Defender 90. After a long time of daydreaming, I finally decided to enter the Land Rover community. Yeti spent 33 years in Italy and now lives with me while I’m stationed in Pensacola, FL. I look forward to meeting enthusiasts at the 30A Sand Rover Rally this coming April.

[You’ll enjoy the enthusiasts who attend the Sand Rover Rally; it’s a terrific event -ed.]
Dear Rovers North,
I enjoyed seeing this Land Rover at the 2002 Snowbound Expo in Boston. Also, your Editor’s name and comments have appeared on Triumph social media sites. Is he a glutton for punishment? Who would ever have more than one British auto?
Edward Roach
Kingston, MA
[I confess to enjoying three Land Rovers, a Triumph TR7 and a Triumph Spitfire. Rather than a “glutton for punishment,” I prefer a “fool for love.” -ed.]
Dear Rovers North,
My wife Donna, brother Douglas and I traveled to Germany and Switzerland last November, and I enjoyed seeing many Range Rovers and Land Rovers. My favorite was this Series III 88” pickup at work high up in the Alps in Mürren, Switzerland. Behind the Land Rover is a drop of 2,782 ft straight down to Lauterbrunnen.
