Dear Rovers North,
On behalf of ANARC’s Board of Directors, the Event Planning Committee and myself, I want to thank Mark, Andrea and Calef Letorney for Rover North’s generous support of the 75th Diamond Jubilee.
The ANARC Board of Directors and the Event Planning Committee had a vision to create a truly epic celebration to honor Land Rover’s 75th anniversary. Rover North’s participation and support as the Diamond Jubilee’s Title Supporter were critical in meeting our goals. You each shared in that same vision and demonstrated it through your early commitment of financial support during the event planning stages, but also with the donation of the invaluable time, energy, and talents of yourselves and the Rover North’s staff. Collectively, they ensured that ANARC’s Diamond Jubilee had a consistently high-quality presentation of its capabilities to create a large and memorable event.

Personally, and on behalf of the Board of Directors, I would again like to say that we are most grateful for Rover North’s support and resources. Please let everyone at Rovers North know of our appreciation of their commitment and hard work on behalf of ANARC and the Diamond Jubilee.

J. Michael McCaig, President
Association of North American Land Rover Clubs

[All of us at Rovers North send ANARC and its Event Planning Committees our congratulations on a spectacular celebration -ed.]

Dear Rovers North,

It was a pleasure meeting everyone at the Diamond Jubilee. I wanted to offer my thanks for the photographs and for including us in the Instagram feed! We really enjoyed meeting Jim Macri and viewing his remarkable High Meadow Farms Land Rovers,, especially the Centre Steer prototype!

Dear Rovers North,

Passing through Manchester, VT, I was reminded that the Land Rover Experience was located there. 16 years driving Land Rovers, from Mexico to Newfoundland and back, and finally had an opportunity to learn some actual techniques from a professional.

Two hours with David Nunn and I’m ready to take my foot off the brake, and let my wheels do what they were designed to do! I drove a new Discovery on the course – quite a change from my Range Rover P38!

Dear Rovers North,

Letters to the Editor – Fall 2023

We are the Richardson’s from Casper Wyoming; Rylan (4) on the left, and Kaydence (6) on the right. They’re seated atop of “Voldemort” (named by Rylan), our ‘04 Discovery that we’ve had for three years now. They’ve both been in the garage off and on helping install the roof rack, new head gasket, rotate tires, build and paint fridge slide and storage boxes, and way, way more.

This photo was taken during our first big camping trip of the year, breaking in all our winter projects.

We were all sitting around camp reading the two latest Rovers Magazines. Kaydence and Rylan are showing us their favorites, of course. Out of nowhere Kaydence gets an idea of “Let’s sit on Voldemort and send it to them and maybe we can get in the magazine”

Voldemort has taken our family on many different camping, fishing, shed hunting trips on many different mountain ranges around Wyoming. The Richardson’s goal is to add a 110 one day to the family as it is Rylan’s and Kaydences favorite.

Thank you!

Joe Richardson
Casper, WY

[Please let Kaydence know that her idea was brilliant, and that we’re delighted to put her and her sister in the magazine -ed]

Dear Rovers North,

Our 2-year old son is the biggest Land Rover enthusiast I’ve ever met – he loves looking through Rovers Magazine. For his second birthday, we turned out “Papa Truck” (’04 Discovery II) into an ice cream truck, complete with signage, jingle and an eager waitstaff (our 5-year old daughter). When he heard to the telltale music and saw the Discovery, he looked like he had won the lottery!

Dear Rovers North,

I sighted my cat where my dog usually sits; however, I could not cite his Sighting. Maybe a mouse?

Dear Rovers North,

Letters to the Editor – Fall 2023

While on a family vacation in Kenya, my son bought a Michael Morpugo book, Born To Run, in Nairobi. Described on the same page as a “battered grey Land Rover,” it’s a Rover – maybe IIA?

Dear Rovers North,

Every summer in July, the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY, hosts the induction of baseball players who are worthy of being enshrined in its hallowed halls. The Hall of Fame is not the only museum in town, as we have the Farmer’s Museum and the Fenimore Art Museum. The Friday before the Sunday induction ceremony, there is a party held to welcome the Hall of Fame’s new inductees. This year, the party was held at the Fenimore Art Museum. One of the art shows that the museum had on display was photographs of a trip to Africa by the Baseball Hall-of-Fame’s Randy Johnson. This led the powers-to-be of the museum to have an African safari-themed reception party. I was asked by the Fenimore Art Museum if I would allow my ‘61 Series II 109” Station Wagon to be on display. I was told by the museum that a plant artist was going to construct a topiary lion to rest on the top of my Land Rover. I quickly accepted the offer. The Land Rover was prominently displayed at the entrance of the party with the king of the jungle proudly displayed on top.

Dear Rovers North,

It’s always a bright day when your magazine hits our mailbox. Land Rovers are such a love language. I grew up in in South Africa, Namibia and Scotland, and spent my childhood into adulthood helping my father with his various Series I, II, III, Defender and Discoverys.
