Dear Rovers North,
I’ve loved Defenders since the first time I saw one in a BBC documentary. It took 10 years of dreaming before finally finding one I could afford to bring home, disassemble and rebuild – and I had a copy of Rovers Magazine and your Rovers North Parts Guide in my hands daily throughout the entire restoration. I honestly don’t know if I would have had the courage to take on such a project without seeing all of the parts catalogued, photographed, and in stock at Rovers North! I learned so much and am excited to await the arrival on another Defender, a 90 this time.

Dear Rovers North,
Well after months of planning we finally were able to get the stars to align and shoot the iconic Camel Trophy world known image last night. I waded into shoulder deep, alligator and shark infested water to place a step ladder, and then stood on it to get me to the required height out of the water. The photo shoot was an adventure itself.

Dear Rovers North,
My grandson, Emmitt, has been exposed to Land Rover brainwashing, err, familiarization for some time now. He was able to identify the 4×4 in his new book as a Land Rover! We live in Connecticut as they are in Idaho, so his sister Kynlee has been assisting me with the familiarization.

Dear Rovers North,
I would like to thank the team at Rovers North for all you do to keep my prized Defender 90 300 Tdi in top shape! Thanks again and keep up the good work.

[You’re welcome, Nick, and thanks for letting Rovers North be a part of your Land Rover experience -ed.]
Dear Rovers North,
I enjoyed reading Andrei Tutu’s article online in AutoEvolution about creating a forward control version of the L663 Defender. He used the digital creations of auto designer Mike Turner in his article. The FC 101 has been the basis for many camper conversions. Turner’s creations suggest pickup, passenger or cargo and camper derivatives of the Defender. Let’s do it!

Dear Rovers North,
I just wanted to say how excited I am to see this amazing magazine online and available for viewing and download! Please don’t ever remove them – thank you very much!

Dear Rovers North,
Sharing this photo of my Series IIA has gotten me to thinking about writing a novel with hopes it could turn into a film or movie that sheds additional mysticism to the heritage and spirit of Land Rovers.
Cheers!

Dear Rovers North,
I found my recently restored ’96 Defender 90 published in What To Do In Savannah, with the photo credited to A Gravett. The location is the Avenue of the Oaks at Wormsloe Plantation.

Dear Rovers North,
Meet “Jessie,” a ’93 Defender 90 UK spec. Along with a change from RHD to LHD, she has a Rovers North frame, locking diffs front and rear, dual batteries, suspension lift kit, an R380 transmission, rock sliders and other kit. The work was completed by Matt Tucker of Classic Automotive Repair in Kington, ON. I’ve taken her on several off-road adventures with the Ottawa Valley Land Rover Club and am pleased to report that everything works as it should. Thanks for all your support with this project. I hope to get another 30 years out of her.

[Michael, what a handsome build on your Defender 90! Can’t wait to see her in 2053 -ed.]
Dear Rovers North,
Have I been cut off from Rovers Magazine? I have not received any this year. I own a ’72 Airportable, an ’03 Discovery II and a ’12 Range Rover L322. I’ve been Land Rover fan and owner since 1970, and a ROAV member as well.

[We’re happy to have reconnected with you. Rovers Magazine is a service of Rovers North for its “active customers.” As noted in the masthead on page 2, the most common reason for not receiving a print copy of the magazine is not making a purchase from Rovers North in two years. We’re delighted with your history with the marque and look forward to helping you get the most out of your Land Rovers -ed.]
