As we go to press, ANARC welcomes new members to its Board of Directors: Dr. Garrick “Rik” Olsen, Minneapolis, MN and Lou Tauber, Portland, OR. Both have been active members of their respective Land Rover clubs, as well as participants with the ANARC Advisory Council. The Board also thanks Ryan Carmen, Ottawa, ON, for his service as a Board member helping to promote the 2023 Diamond Jubilee that celebrated Land Rover’s 75th anniversary.
For the 2026 Stewards Training (April 15–19) in Tularosa, NM, ANARC held a drawing for three scholarships to cover the registration cost of $1,250 per registrant. The winning clubs were: Smoky Mountain Rover Club (KY), Carolina Trail Riders Association (NC) and the Solihull Society (CO). ANARC is pleased to share proceeds from club membership renewals and sponsor support with member clubs. Each member club received an allotment of two registrations; as we go to press, available slots are now open to any enthusiast who is a member of an ANARC-partnered club.
Along with the Stewards Training, ANARC is partnering with the Solihull Society in support of their annual National Rally. This year’s coordinator, Tom Cryer, sent us this preview of the event:
“This year’s Solihull Society National Rally (LRNR 2026) returns to Ouray, CO, from July 26–31.”
“I’ve attended the National Rally in Ouray several times as an enthusiast and club member. It’s been a three-year absence from Ouray and I’m excited to return. John Woods, a past President of the Solihull Society, lives in Ouray and reports that town is rolling out the red carpet for Land Rover enthusiasts. I was talking to a friend last week who had attended LRNR 2022 in Ouray, and he said, ‘That was such a great trip for us.’ One year we had vehicles from 23 states, 4 countries and 3 continents. The National Rally is partnering with ANARC this year so hopefully we can top those attendance numbers in 2026.”
“Our club started decades ago; many of us found it in the early ‘90s when we purchased that first piece of addictive aluminum in the form of a Defender or Discovery I. In addition to Ouray the National Rally has been held in Red River, Breckenridge, Crested Butte, Steamboat Springs, Moab, Buena Vista — and I’m probably forgetting a few other locales. Our trail runs have brought us to alpine basins, overland passes, and historic mining. The events have helped create a great enthusiast community throughout the years. We are about building relationships, making new friends, and sending you home with a heartfelt storybook of excitement with not just Colorado, but the communal love for Land Rovers.”
“Our trail leaders have a history to share, a wisdom that bleeds green, and a desire for you to have a great day. Our evenings will be full of the intrigue of a town with 150 years of mining and tourist experiences. Whether you are leaning out the window at the Duncan House in Animas Forks or having an ice cream cone on Main Street looking up at towering cliffs, we think you’ll find it all so unforgettable.”
“All events will begin and end downtown; we will be in the thick of it. Our registration page will be open 01/31/2026. Get in early!”
